Leroy Meats and Catering began in the small town of Leroy, Wisconsin in 1938 under the name Leroy Locker. The store butchered, cut, and stored meat for farmers and made old world fresh and smoked sausage with recipes brought over from German immigrants, many of which are still made the same way today.

Through the years many awards were won at the state and national levels including an international award in Ghent, Belgium. Leroy Locker quickly became known as not only having the best sausage products in the United States, but also in the entire world.

In 1990, Leroy Meats made a significant move to Horicon, Wisconsin, and underwent a name change to become Leroy Meats of Horicon. Remaining a family-owned business, Leroy Meats proudly embraced the time-honored traditions while introducing an array of new products, including an impressive selection of over 60 bratwurst varieties. Notably, we clinched the title of “Best Brat in Wisconsin” for three consecutive years.

Over the years, Leroy Meats has gained a sterling reputation for delivering nothing but the finest meat and sausage products in the region, all while maintaining competitive prices. Our commitment to quality extends to our party planning and catering to events ranging from intimate gatherings to grand weddings. Every dish is prepared from scratch, using only the finest ingredients available.

Our recently expanded Horicon store is your go-to destination, staffed by friendly professionals who are also expert butchers. Not only can we provide custom cuts, but we’re always ready to share cooking tips and recommendations. At Leroy Meats, we aim to make your visit enjoyable and look forward to serving you.

In the Spring of 2017, we further expanded our reach with the opening of our Fox Lake location—a spacious 11,000 square-foot facility employing around 80 skilled individuals. This facility is where our innovative sausage-making processes come to life.

December 2020 marked another milestone as Leroy Meats acquired the Mayville Golf Course. Following extensive renovations and the addition of a commercial kitchen, we proudly launched The Meating Place, a seven-day-a-week restaurant. However, as of 2023, Leroy Meats is no longer affiliated with The Mayville Golf Course or The Meating Place.

In 2022, Leroy Meats expanded its horizons by acquiring Lebby’s Pizzas. We are now the proud makers and deliverers of Lebby’s Pizzas to over 300 customers across Wisconsin. For more information about their products call 920-485-2554 ext. 1.

May 1st, 2023, marked a significant transition as the last original owner, Scott Hurst, retired after more than five decades of dedicated service to Leroy Meats. Steve Christian and his wife, Valerie, have since taken the reins, becoming the sole owners of the business.

We’re excited to announce that October, 2024, marks the opening of Leroy Meats’ third location in the charming town of Ripon, WI! It is located at 800 West Fond du Lac Street. In order to make this location a reality, owners Steve and Valerie Christian have teamed up with Brandon Sosinsky to bring the same high-quality products that our customers love from our Horicon and Fox Lake locations.

At our new Ripon store, you’ll find a fresh meat service counter offering a wide selection of cuts, expertly prepared to meet your needs. In addition to our premium meats, we’re proud to offer a variety of our famous snack sticks and award-winning Wisconsin cheese, perfect for any gathering or a tasty treat.
